(Ulsteinvik, 20 September 2016) Green Technology of Norway is a brand new collaboration between four companies with a vision to make a huge difference in energy utilization.

The collaborators have a clear goal to increase sales and strengthen the position as Norway´s number one in sustainable technology for the maritime and marine market.

“The cost of energy is high, especially in terms of negative environmental impact. The world is facing huge challenges related to emissions from fossil fuel. More than ever green technology is needed,” says Sales and Marketing Director of Ulmatec, Mr Jon Åge Eidem, representing the cooperation partners.

Green Technology of Norway is a collaboration between Ulmatec Pyro (Waste Energy Management System), Sperre Coolers (Heat Exchangers), Anda-Olsen (Hybrid Power Solutions) and Climeon (Power Generation from Waste Energy).

The four collaboration companies have a clear environmental friendly profile, both through each company's technology, and in terms of integration of technology between the parties.

Together they offer technology that utilises waste energy from engine cooling and exhaust systems, used for a variety of purposes to enable substantial fuel and cost savings to be made, in addition to the major environmental benefits.

Among the developments is a system for generating clean emission-free electricity from waste heat recovery, and hybrid power solutions for energy storage and peak operations.

“We believe that shipping companies are genuinely interested in reducing their carbon footprint and installing environmental friendly equipment, but reducing emissions is not only a technologically challenging task.”

“Normally such changes increase the client’s capital expenditure, and free fuel from charterers can also be an obstacle for the ship-owners to invest in environmental friendly equipment,” says Mr Eidem.

“Laws and regulations will probably contribute to force new solutions into the market, but we have already met these challenges and opportunities by developing an environmental friendly system package with low installation cost, and short payback time, typical less than two years,” concludes Mr Jon Åge Eidem.
