Case Gasket

This gasket is used between a compressor valve and the cylinder head. It stops compressed air from leaking out. Even more important, it provides a seal between the intake and the delivery side of the compressor.

The copy

A blowout of the pass partition separating the intake and the delivery side of the compressor will cause the compression temperature to rise dramatically. Unless the damaged gasket is replaced immediately, the result could be a total breakdown.

The gasket expands and contracts, over and over again. Under the strain, poor quality gasket material may gradually become thinner. The seal will weaken, and the gasket may start leaking.

If the gasket material starts to harden, it gradually loses its strength and flexibility. Apart from the risk of leakage, small pieces of the gasket may be sucked into the cylinder, causing major damage.

With no graphite coating, the gasket sticks to the metal surfaces. When the time comes to remove the worn gasket, it will be much more difficult to get it out, and much more work to clean the metal surfaces properly.

The original

Stainless steel inserted
The gasket material is mechanically bonded to a stainless-steel tang insert, to ensure extreme strength and stability.

Correct coating
A non-stick graphite coating makes the gasket easy to insert and remove. It also ensures excellent sealing against the metal surfaces.

Flexible graphite material
The gasket is made of flexible graphite, a new material with excellent tensile strength and sealability. It is highly resistant to creep and oil, and can withstand the cycles of constraction and expansion caused by temperature changes from 20 to 270 degrees C.
