0 hours: New Sperre compressor in top condition: Buys the following original parts at the same time: Complete valves, valve parts, valve gaskets, piston rings, all bearings, complete set of gaskets, flexible coupling insert. "I prefer to have a good stock of guaranteed genuine spares on board. A ship at sea is no place to take chances."
200 hours: Running- in oil changed. Uses oil recommended by Sperre.
1000 hours: Routine maintenance. Checks valves. These are still in very good condition. Changes valve gaskets and orders new ones from Sperre. Changes oil.
